A Memphis Gospel Celebration

02/17/2013, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

879 East McLemore map

Description:
The MSO will celebrate Black History Month and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s contribution through the rich and diverse traditions of gospel music. The concert will feature vibrant voices from throughout the Memphis community singing with the orchestra.

This concert is free to the public. Please consider donating to the Memphis Symphony.

This concert is part of the year-long residency of the MSO to support the Memphis Music Magnet in Soulsville. The MSO / Community LIFT received a highly coveted grant from ArtPlace, a national initiative that invests in community revitalization through the arts. Grant funds will be used to improve Soulsville’s music-focused infrastructure and also fund a full season of free MSO concerts and artistic engagement in the historic neighborhood.
