For those who like working with people, volunteering for the Memphis
Symphony offers an opportunity to hear great music, make new friends
and serve an arts organization that is one of the treasures of our
city. As a volunteer with the MSO, we value you for your time and skills. We
want you to enjoy the work you do. Here are some ways that you could help serve us:
1) Join the Memphis Symphony League. Open to
women and men of all ages, today’s Memphis Symphony League actively
supports the Orchestra through educational activities, special events, and
financial contributions.
2) Assist with our numerous Education & Community events like Young People's Concerts, Family Tunes & Tales, Leading from Every Chair®, etc.
3) Host important out of town guest artists in your home.
4) Provide transportation to our out of town guest artists to and from rehearsals, concerts and special events.
5) Assist in our mass mailings. The League and the Symphony regularly need help stuffing envelopes.
6) Help put together Special Events for the Symphony. This could be anything from helping a post-concert reception to helping the League throw a party to raise money for the Symphony.
7) The MSO staff is always looking for volunteers willing to help with administrative tasks. Assist us by sitting at the front desk when we have staff meetings or other general office tasks.
8) Help with our ground-breaking series, Opus One. The Opus One Host Committee recruits new audience members and focuses on
raising awareness in the community. The Opus One Steering Committee
